I got a call from the travel agency where I booked my ticket to let me know that I would receive my confirmation in the mail in 2-3 days. *sigh* More waiting. Owell, at least now I had my flight paid for, now on to paying for the rest.

Shirts... we gotta have shirts!

Teresa, from the Garthbox, and also Planet Garth Columnist, had mentioned on the Garthbox that fans should try making a shirt that says "I'm a GarthNutt!" The shirt should be in royal blue, (or should I say Troyal blue?) with white lettering.

Ok, as I am limited in the funds department, I went looking through my closet to see if I had a blue shirt. What luck, I had a brand new navy short sleeve shirt that I could use for this project. I know navy isn't royal, but this is what I'm gonna use.

Wanna see what my shirt *should* look like when done?

The white letters will be done at the mall, at the T-Shirt shop, hopefully, and the gold letters will be done with a gold fabric pen. I haven't bought that yet, so I'm hoping this is going to work out. I think I'll print out copies of the shirt so the person doing the lettering knows how I want it to look.

We've decided to bring poster board with us.. or rather Darla is gonna bring some shocking pink poster board with her and we're gonna make up individual signs for the concert, that when held up at one time spell out something.

What, you ask will it spell out? I can't tell right now.. swore to secrecy, but when I get back from my trip, I'll tell ya all about it.

The four of us going on Friday, or hoping to still don't have tickets. Looks like we're gonna need to buy them when we get there, if we're lucky. *rubs GarthWatch and hopes it will bring her luck*

I'll write more on this page later this week.

Another great time at chat tonight. Arlene again got use of a computer and met me there at 6pm. We discussed signs and perhaps bringing bubbles to the concert for use during "The Fever."

I talked with Dawn tonight also, and told her and Arlene about the Garth checkbook cover that my friend, Christine, the Smoking Cessation Guide here at the Mining Co., is making for sale. I tell them I will bring mine with me to show to people, in case anyone is interested in buying one. I scanned a copy of mine. See below:

If anyone is interested in buying one, they are laminated, and Christine will make you one for $7.00 plus .55 cents for shipping. You can contact Christine at chrisco@clever.net for more details.

Finally got out and went to Michael's to check out some stencils for lettering and fabric paint for my shirt. Bought white and antique gold fabric paint as well as a cardboard shirt holder thingy so I could just stretch the shirt over that and paint on a flat surface.

Well, when I got the shirt on the cardboard, and put my stencil letters on a shirt I'm gonna practice on, I realized something. This stuff is harder than it looks. I think it would look better if you could paint it on, and it does say you can do that, but I don't have a brush of course. Sooooo.... I tried doing the "gbshel" by hand and it looks awful.

Also went to the fabric store for some materials of something I'm making for my 7 Garthbuds going with me to the concert, and one for Garth as well.

And if you think that is simple as it sounds, think again. *laugh* My hubby used the machine for sewing a costume and for some reason the tension is all screwed up. I guess I'll have to talk to my friend, Debbie, the Guide for the Sewing site on the Mining Co.

Ohhh.. a few hours have gone by since I wrote the last paragraph, and I thought I'd update you on the special thing I'm making for my Garthbuds and Garth himself. Debbie wrote me back and suggested I take out the bobbin and put in an old one and try rethreading the machine. What do you know? It worked perfect! I had wound the bobbin wrong and that is why it was all messed up, so it wasn't really the tension at all. Big thanks to Debbie for helping me out with that.

When we get back from Lexington, I'll put a scanned pic of the thing I made so you all can see what it was. Be patient. 0:)
