DECISION MADE:

Wednesday night, apparently the poll went down. At the time it went down I did NOT know whether it was the server crashing, which would make all the votes go to 0, or if the poll could be saved.

Thursday morning I get angry emails accusing me of cheating, and not going by my word. This is NOT the case. When I wrote to support last night, I specifially mentioned I NEEDED to know if the poll was intact or if the server crashed, and would start at 0 again. By the time I went to bed, I had NOT heard back from them. This morning I still had no word from support, and not having gone to see what was happening with the poll page downloaded my mail to see if I had an answer. No answer from support, but angry mails instead. :( This is very distressing for me as this was totally out of my control. Apparently support DID fix the poll while I was sleeping and neglected to answer my question, so people thought I was cheating because I had several people tell me that different artists had lost votes from when the poll went down.

What I can figure is that the data must be saved every few hours or so, and when the poll stopped working, when it was reinstated, the votes were counted from the last time they were saved. Who knows when that was in regards to the crash.

SO, I am doing what I said I would do. I am declaring this a three-way-tie. It isn't fair to keep on voting when it didn't pick up where it left off when it crashed. There's nothing I can do about that, so this is the result. I know I'll have some angry mails about it, and I'm sure I'll lose some visitors. No matter what I do with this poll, it seems that I get people mad at me, so I just can't win. I hope that most of you will be happy with this decision, and that you won't boycott my site as some people have done. :(

I am getting the songs together for our next poll which will start on Monday. If you haven't sent in your favorites, you can do so at: Favorite Song. Please don't repeat the songs, it's not votes. Once a song is listed, it's there and I don't need additional votes for it, however I'm sure I'll have some songs repeated, but I ask you not to send 10 votes for one song.

So, we move on. I hope you will enjoy the Favorite Song voting. There will be many to choose from, and I think it will go on for quite a while before we get down to the Top song.

We still have the Favorite Group poll going on. This poll is currently running from Friday through Thursday, but I believe I'm going to switch it to Mon - Sun to coincide with the rest of the updating on the site, starting this upcoming week.
