On March 3, 2001 I attended a George Jones concert in Silver Springs, Florida. George took the stage shortly after 3:00 pm on a beautiful Spring day. He put on a terrific show as he always does. I have seen George numerous times in concert and I'm never disappointed. He isn't as lively on stage as he once was, but his voice is as wonderful as ever.

He sang a lot of old favorites as well as several cuts from his latest album "The Cold Hard Truth." The crowd of approximately 8,000 people enjoyed all he had to offer. He stayed on stage for a little over an hour, even singing Happy Birthday to an audience member that had gotten a slip of paper onstage somehow. He talked a little with the audience, but mostly concentrated on his singing.

George Jones

He really had the crowd moving with "I Don't Need Your Rocking Chair." We saw some of his footwork and the "rolling guitar" thing that he does with that song. All graphics © Shelly Fabian, with the exception of the photos,
