When I first heard Darryl Worley's first single, "When You Need My Love," I thought he sounded like Garth Brooks. Not every line, but certain words and his phrasing. Now that I've listened to his whole album over and over again, I have to say that the Garth-sound doesn't seem as noticeable. Sometimes I think he sounds like Merle Haggard, which isn't surprising at all, since Merle is one of Darryl's musical influences. But overall, I think Darryl's sound is just that.. HIS sound. And I love it! Below you can see my feelings on each of the cuts on this cd. (Song titles are linked to lyrics for the song.)

Good Day To Run - This is a song that I think is perfect to put on while out driving down the highway. Great traveling music.

Who's Gonna Get Me Over You Great up-tempo song about the girl that helped him forget his last girlfriend. But now she's left him and he wants to know "Who's gonna get me over you?"

Second Wind - Man, if I had to pick a song from this album that was my favorite, I'd *HAVE* to say this was it. Nice ballad. This is also Darryl's favorite cut.

Hard Rain Don't Last - There aren't any songs on this album that I don't like, and this is another of my favorites. Mid-tempo song that says: "That old sun is going to shine again tomorrow. Hard rain don't last."

Too Many Pockets - Like western swing? Get your dancin' boots on for this one. It will bring back memories of Bob Wills. Love it!

Those Less Fortunate Than I - This slow tune talks about being kind to those that may not have as much as you do, and don't turn away.

When You Need My Love - This is Darryl's first single off the album, and is currently in the Top 20. Great song about a girl that thinks she can keep coming back to him when she has problems in her new relationship.

Sideways - This is a fun drinkin' song. "Now and then on Friday's, I might get a little sideways."

The Way Things Are Goin' - Slowing it down some here with this beautiful ballad. "If I could conjure up a miracle, find comfort in the spiritual, I guess I'd pray for some serenity, but that ain't me."

Feels Like Work - When the relationship starts feeling like work, "Maybe we should find ourselves a mountain top, a little place to stop for awhile"

Is It Just Us - Another great ballad. "Now I'm seeing things I've never seen. Dreaming dreams I've never dreamed. There's been such a change in me since I felt your touch."

If I Could Just Be Me - You can tell Darryl had fun recording this song. It's one of those just feeling good songs.
