"I'm so sad to hear about him dying. I remember last year, Carrie and I went to his chat and he was such a friendly and sweet guy as he answered all of our questions. She and I had a lot of fun and I know I'll miss this super talented man."

 Harlan Howard Quote:
• "Country music is three chords and the truth."

• "If you really want to know who I am, sing 'Pick Me Up On Your Way Down.'"

• "They ought to lock every record producer in the basement of the Country Music Hall of Fame for two weeks and teach them about Hank and Lefty. Play them the source. Let them feel that passion and then turn them loose to do whatever the hell they want to. At least they'd leave there knowing about the foundation."
