Jennifer's Texas Country

Dateline: May 6, 2002

Last month I spotlighted Kyle Hutton (the man that, while "Coming Home," found great inspiration for his songs); this month I will feature Kevin Fowler, a rowdy man that has a great amount of exposure and will continue to rock his way through his time in the business.

Kevin Fowler is a name that is synonymous with partying and having a good time, yet you might be surprised to learn that not only does he sing slow songs, he was also the front man of a hard rock band called "Dangerous Toys," a group that had popular videos on MTV.

This singer/songwriter extraordinaire's music can almost always be found on the Texas Country Music chart, whether it is by himself ("Beer, Bait, and Ammo"), or collaborating with other artists ("I Think I'll Just Stay Here and Drink" [with Jason Boland and Clay Blaker]) and for a while, two of his tunes sat high atop the MP3.com country charts.

With the Beer, Bait, & Ammo album being out for so long, and his first one, One For The Road being such a scarce item to find, one wonders when a new collection will be released. I am sure that, even while on the road so much, Kevin continues to write meaningful songs along with the toe-tappers that he is so famous for.

Until that fateful day, all of the fans can sit back and listen to great songs like "Butterbean," "I Found Out the Hard Way," and "100% Texan." We will not have to wonder if the songs will be any good or not, because after all, this is Kevin Fowler we are talking about. Everything he releases comes out perfect.

Full Albums Kevin Fowler Has Released:

  • "One For The Road"
  • "Beer, Bait, & Ammo"

Singles Released To Radio:

  • "Speak of the Devil"
  • "100% Texan"
  • "Beer, Bait, and Ammo"

Thank you for reading and come back next month for a new article.
