Jennifer's Texas Country
line

Dateline: November 5, 2001

Welcome to the first installment of my "Jennifer's Texas Country" Column. You may already be familiar with my old "Young Country" series and this will run pretty much the same way, only this time I will feature Artists that are known mainly around Texas, or perhaps even their "Alt-Country" counterparts.

Even though he was born in San Antonio, for the month of November I have chosen to feature Pat Green, a man that grew up in the place where I was born and raised and currently live - Waco, Texas.

Green's band is made up of the following talented guys: Brendon Anthony (fiddle), Brett Danaher (lead guitar and vocals), Jondan McBride (bass guitar and background vocals), David Neuhauser (B3 and slide guitar), and Just Pollard (drums).

The first single released from his current album, "Three Days," is "Carry On," a tune that introduced the rest of the Country to the high-energy performer. Those of us in Texas had (more than likely) already heard this man on their local radio stations.

Soon after Country Music Television made the video for "Carry On" a "Hot Shot," the already fans and the newer fans started to request the video so much that it beat Toby Keith for number one on the show more that just a few times. The video shows Pat in various places around Dallas, Texas and then cuts to him performing for a huge crowd. It is a great video because you really get to see what it would be like to experience one of his concerts.

I am sure than in the future Award Shows we will see Pat Green nominated and possibly even winning, which I am sure gives great hope to all of the other talented Texas Artists out there.
