Joe Diffie: It is a wonderful school in Nashville that gives kids with disibilities their "First Steps" into life. BMPRSHOST: Do you ever get online to see what people are saying about you and your music? Joe Diffie: Sometimes. Mostly on my website, joediffie.com. BMPRSHOST: Have you ever passed on a certain song, only to find it become a major hit for somebody else? Joe Diffie: Several times. "All My Old Flames Have New Names" was a No. 1 for Mark Chesnutt. BMPRSHOST: Do you like small or large concert venues the best? Joe Diffie: Both have their pros & cons. I like fairs the best. BMPRSHOST: What is the most enjoyable part of performing? Joe Diffie: Watching people having a good time in the audience. BMPRSHOST: Is there anything you don't like about being in the spotlight? Joe Diffie: Sometimes in public you don't feel like being "on." But it's OK. It beats working anyday. BMPRSHOST: Would you ever want to do a duet with anyone? If so, with whom? Joe Diffie: I have done several duets. I enjoy them. I don't have anyone in particular I would like to do one with, however. BMPRSHOST: Do you prefer picking songs from other people, or writing your own? Joe Diffie: I really have no preference. If it is a good song, I like it. BMPRSHOST: How would you describe your new album, "In Another World," in only one sentence? Joe Diffie: It is a thoughtful, emotional album, with a wide range of great songs on it. BMPRSHOST: And finally, What are your thoughts on the tragic events of September 11th? Joe Diffie: Like everyone else, I feel terrible for the victims. It was unimaginable. I hate that my children have to live in a world where such evil exists. But, it is what it is and we will all deal with it. It is very gratifying to see the patriotism that has emerged. It makes me feel even better about living in the greatest country on the planet.
