In celebration of Johnny Cash's 70th birthday on February 26, 2002, Sony Legacy is reissuing six of his best albums.

The first to be released was The Essential Johnny Cash, the 36-song 2-CD/cassette chronicle of Cash's Sun, Columbia, and Mercury years, plus "The Wanderer" with U2 on February 12th.

The campaign continues on March 19th with expanded editions of 5 vintage LPs available on CD for the first time in the U.S.
