Juice Newton has released a live show on DVD titled Every Road Leads Back to You. It was filmed at the Key Club in Los Angeles, and it is great to watch Juice in action on stage. She is a born entertainer and is totally at ease on the stage. She has a casual style of entertaining and simply showcases her musical abilities without any fluff.
I enjoyed the way they split off from the show for a little background from Juice on different songs throughout the program. It makes this project just a little more personalized; you not only get to see a live show, you also get to get behind the scenes info in the middle. For her stage costume, she chose a sparkly, purple tank top with slacks and a long jacket. The shade of purple in the top matches the purple highlights in her hair. As always, Juice remains completely her own person.
She is well known for her hits on both the Country and Pop charts. She took time off for a few years to be a mom, but she still sounds as good now as when she left the spotlight a few years ago. She stands front and center onstage with her guitar and gives it her all. Juice is not one for showy stage effects; she lets her abilities speak for themselves. Her band has been a road family for a few years; and they are very comfortable with each other and their abilities. They all just have a good time. I became a Juice Newton fan after hearing the song, "Queen of Hearts." After that song, I made it a point to listen to more of her music. She has the ability to sing just about any type of music and do it very well.
Overall, this is a great DVD to pop in and relax to. She has all the old favorites and a few new songs that are sure to become new favorites. From the beginning song of "Your Heart is Showing," to the final note of "It's Late," Juice is all entertainer. The great thing about the DVD is you can also get an up close and personal view of Juice with the interview. There are also four audio tracks on the DVD as well.
