Alan Jackson has released a Christmas CD just in time for the holiday shopping frenzy. With the exception of one original song, Alan has included traditional arrangements of several favorite Christmas songs. This is an album destined to make you find a cup of hot chocolate filled with marshmallows, get in your fuzzy slippers and sit in the overstuffed chair while listening to it. It has the sound that absolutely puts you in the holiday spirit.

He kicks things off with "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." It is a short song and just enough to give you a taste of the treats still to come.

"Winter Wonderland" has long been one of my favorite songs over the holidays. There is just something about this song that makes me see snow on the rooftops and hear the laughter of children making snowmen - even in tropical weather.

Alan sounds wonderful on "Silent Night." Along with the majority of songs on the album, this is another song that brings back lots of good memories.

Alan wrote "Let It Be Christmas," and it is his one original song on the album. While it may be a new song, it has the "old" sound to it. He took what Christmas means to him and put it into a song. The lyrics are great, and I can see it getting lots of airplay this holiday season. It is sure to be a new family favorite in many households. It sounds like a children's choir may be singing backup on the chorus. It is another big winner from Alan, proving yet again that singing is definitely not his only talent in the music field

He lightens the mood with a good round of "Jingle Bells." This one is sure to have both kids and adults singing along. The holidays aren't complete without hearing "Silver Bells," and refilling your cup of hot chocolate sets the perfect mood for listening to Alan sing about snow covered city sidewalks.

Bottom line is that this album will be a treasured part of anyone's holiday collection. It is rare to find traditionally arranged holiday music anymore and this is perfect. Alan's smooth voice makes this a totally relaxing album to pop in and listen to.
