Viva Garth Vegas!
Dateline: 08/24/98

We arrived at the Thomas & Mack around 6:15, and found out they don't open the doors until 6:30. While we waited I snapped a couple pictures....
![]() Never having lived in the desert, I got the impression it doesn't rain there often, so I was surprised to see in the distance heavy rain falling and lightning. Again, another picture...
![]() As 8:00 approached, the crowd was prompted to yell for Garth by the flashing signs around the arena. We were told "My mother yells louder than that!" by the signs. They also prompted us to do "the wave" so soon all around the arena, people were standing up and waving. Finally the stage went dark and it was time for Trisha to come on: ![]() Being behind the stage, the photo above is the only pic I got of Trisha that night. Trisha sings the same set each night, so I only copied down the songs on Friday. They are:
After That's What I Like About You, Trisha announced that her bass player, Keith had something to say. He then got his girlfriend up on stage, and kneeled down and gave her a ring and asked her to marry him. Then he brought her a huge bouquet of red roses. It was so romantic. As they kissed, Trisha and the band threw rice at them. Then Trisha dedicated How Do I Live to them. After Trisha's portion of the show, the lights went up again and we had another wait for the "Man" to come on stage. |
