Viva Garth Vegas!

Dateline: 08/24/98

Viva Garth Vegas

I'd really been looking forward to Saturday night's show, because we had floor seats, and I was anxious to get some really close pictures. The pics from Friday came out really well, but I just knew that Saturday's would be better since he does face the front more than the rear.

Trisha came out a bit after 8:00 pm, and did her set, which was the same songs as the night before. I really enjoyed watching and listening to her, and it was fun when she had the whole audience sing along with her on "How Do I Live." She rocks with that song. I love how she sings it so much more than LeAnn Rimes.

At a little after 9:00 pm, the lights went down and you heard the countdown to the show. Up comes the white baby Grand and I figured to get some good pictures this night from the front. The lights didn't cooperate with me, and by the time Garth was totally out of the piano and standing on top, the lights were really washing him out. Here's how the pic came out:

To say the crowd on Saturday was in tune with Garth would be a gross understatement. We were connected, soul to soul. We yelled and screamed after every song. He was amazed at our enthusiasm, and said we couldn't keep it up all night, but we did, and he kept on playing, even though he was visibly exhausted.

I would have to say this is the best Garth show I've ever been to.

A bit about when Garth sang It Was Your Song on Saturday night. Since I was facing him this time, I was able to get several great shots as he sang.

When Garth finished the song, he looked up, and I could see him mouth the words, "I love you mom!" Tears came to my eyes at seeing that.

I wasn't able to see the Sunday show, unfortunately. Can you say Buffalo Chili? I should have known better to eat something like that, but it made me sick, and I had to leave before Garth came on. :( So, I'm still looking for my Seventh concert, and hope that it will be in Tampa, FL, or perhaps Orlando, FL.

I hope you've enjoyed my weekend review, and that my words and photos gave you memories if you did attend, or made you feel you were there, if you didn't. Make sure to view both slideshows, as they are all different photos. What I didn't include in this review, or in either slideshow, you can find in the Garth Brooks Photo Album.
