From start to finish, with this album you get an "old time" country feel. Marty sings as if he has experienced everything in his songs, which sets him apart from many other artists out there today. He is a wonderful storyteller.

"Let There Be Country" - As if he knew of the upcoming pop flavors back in 1992 (when the Album was originally released), in this upbeat song he sings "As long as you breathe, let there be country."

In "Last Train Done Gone Down" he does something I think is neat - He sings various lines twice to accentuate a sad part of the song. Another nice addition are the "Woo Woo" noises to make known of the train references in this cut.

"Yeah. So Lonesome. But I do believe everything is gonna be alright," is how the fast paced "Old Hat" starts out. This is my favorite because of the bluegrass sound and all of the various instruments heard. There are no vocals on this song.

The final song on this album is one that immediately sounded familiar to me. It is called "I'll Love You Forever (If I Want To)" and was later done by Pam Tillis only under a different title ("Don't Tell Me What To Do").
