This is Neal's sophomore album released by Mercury Records. It is produced by John Kelton. Out of the 11 tracks on this album, Neal co-wrote seven of them - including the current single "Legacy." He is a talented song writer and singer. The song writing talents from Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen also contribute to this effort.

Overall, this is album will appeal to the fans of the "new country" sound. A couple of tracks have the more traditional sound. "Legacy," and "Right Down Through The Middle Of Us" come to mind.

"Legacy" tells a story of how lucky he is to have met such a special person. "No matter how the world remembers me, loving you will always be my legacy."

"Right Down Through The Middle Of Us" is an upbeat tempo country song. It tells the story of what lack of trust can do to a relationship. "Suspicion drove a semi truck right down through the middle of us." This is one of my favorite tracks on this album.

I also enjoyed "This Town Ain't Big Enough." After breaking a relationship, the town suddenly seems much smaller. They run into each other often in unexpected places. So he points his truck toward the county line and drives.

"Black Heart of Texas" talks about going from rags to riches by making it big in oil. Overall this is a very good album from a young new artist. I look forward to more albums from him.

Song List:

  1. "Right Down Through the Middle of Us"
  2. "You're All That"
