CD Review: Feels Like Home - Patrik Michaels

On the first track, there is nothing the singer wouldn't do "To Get to You." In this mid-tempo tune, he would crawl through the desert or serenade his lady in the wee hours of the morning, just to prove how much she means to him.
"A Little Bit of Love" kicks up the speed and makes me want to get up and dance along to the music. With only a small amount of love, a person's sorrows and fears can drift away and return as happiness. Next is a beautiful ballad called "I Made A Wish." It is about a man that yearned for a lasting love, so he knelt down, closed his eyes, and wished for one. It seemed as though the very moment he opened his eyes, the perfect lady was standing right in front of him. He knew he found the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with after they shared their first kiss. "The magic in the moment when me met, was more powerful than all my years of loneliness. Out of my dreams, into my life, beyond imagination I found you that night." "You Could Hurt Somebody," proclaims Patrik as he sings about the fire in his current flame's eyes and all of the men falling at her feet. If she ever leaves him it will break his heart and he realizes that is the only dangerous part of the relationship. To take care of that fear he makes her promise that she will stay. The title cut, "You Feel Like Home," is an introspective song where the man thinks about what he is going to do when his love is gone. She is familiar to him and he feels as though he can only talk to her about his problems. They have grown so close that it will be hard to break loose from one another. With a jazzy beat, and snazzy sounding background singers, "Sweet Dreams" reminds me of an older type of country song. Aside from the harmonica solos, "Why can't I forget you, start loving someone new, instead of having sweet dreams about you. Sweet dreams of you. Things I know can't come true..." is my favorite part of this song. Song List:
