Penelope Jane: A Fairy's Tale Contest
(Book Contest)

Welcome to the Penelope Jane: A Fairy's Tale Book Contest. This book was written by country music artist, Rosanne Cash. I'll be giving away five copies of the book to qualified entrants that answer all three questions correctly in the form below. You'll find the answers to these questions in Rosanne Cash's Bio.

The contest is over, and our winners are:

Kurt Neiburg
Cindy Livers
Lisa Slomin
Sharon Howell
Mike Sarles

Congrats to all of them. I hope they'll enjoy this delightful book.

About Penelope Jane: A Fairy's Tale

Penelope Jane: A Fairy's Tale You already know Rosanne Cash as a Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter; an accomplished performer with ten record albums under her belt -- eleven number-one singles. You'll be glad to know she's hard at work on a new CD for Capitol Records, tentatively scheduled for release in mid-2001.

But you may not have met Penelope Jane -- Rosanne's tiny fictional fairy and alter-ego. "Tall as an eyelash, quick as a plane was the tiniest fairy, Penelope Jane," Cash writes in her playful new picture book, "Penelope Jane: A Fairy's Tale" (HarperCollins, 2000).

Inspired by the singer's daughter Carrie and illustrated by award winning artist G. Brian Karas, Penelope Jane is a new kind of fairy. "She means well," according to Cash, "but she does tend to get herself in and out of trouble."

That mix of magic and mayhem make Penelope Jane the perfect picture book addition to any bibliofile's library -- the perfect holiday gift for young readers who dream whimisical dreams.

Bodies of Water (Hyperion, 1995), Cash's first book (for adult readers) received widespread critical acclaim, as has her picture book debut. A CD of Cash's children's song, "How to be Strong" is packaged with Penelope Jane, at no additional cost.

On the horizon, SONGS WITHOUT RHYME, an anthology of short stories written by songwriters and edited by Cash for Hyperion's Spring 2001 catalog. She also teaches a songwriting workshop in New York and will be the music supervisor for the film, "Big Stone Gap," which starts production in the spring.
