CD Review: Play It Loud (Re-release) - Chris Cagle

line Play It Loud line

Chris Cagle originally released his album on Virgin Nashville, back in January of 2000. The label has closed, and Chris moved over to Capitol Nashville. Capitol decided to re-release his album, adding two new songs, and an Enhanced CD, to give fans more Cagle.

You can read my original review of the album to see what I thought of it as a whole. Here, I will just add my thoughts on the new package... the two new songs and the Enhanced CD features.

The two new songs on the album are "Are You Ever Gonna Love Me" and "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out."

"Are You Ever Gonna Love Me" is a gorgeous ballad that talks about one person feeling more strongly about the other one, and they ask the other

person if they'll ever love them the same way. "Are you ever gonna need me, like I need you? Are you ever gonna want me, the way I want you to?"

"I Breathe In, I Breathe Out," is another wonderful ballad, and Chris just HAS to release this as a single. It's a fantastic song. This is about the end of a relationship, and how you cope with it. "I breathe in I breathe out, put one foot in front of the other, take one day at a time, 'til you find I'm that someone you can't live without."

You definitely need to play this on your CD Rom to see the the special features in store. Once you insert the CD in your CD Rom, you'll see a splash screen with some video from "My Love Goes On And On" and hear part of the song. Then you'll get a menu with several options. You can watch Chris' video for "Laredo," read what Chris has to say about himself, musically and personally, see his thoughts on the songs on the CD, watch a video of Chris behind the scenes on the road, and connect to both Capitol-Nashville, and Chris' Official website.

Those of you that have the original Play It Loud are probably wondering if you should bother to get the new version. YES! The two new songs are both excellent additions to an already great album, plus the "Behind the Scenes" interview is terrific as well. Go out and buy it and take it home, pop it in your cd player and of course "Play it Loud!"
