"Road Dogs" the title cut is an awesome upbeat Lynyrd Skynyrd type of song about the life entertainers face on the road. "Ain't No Law" is Charlie Daniel's view of the state of California. It's along the lines of Hank Williams Jr's "A Country Boy Can Survive" but with a hard-edged bite to it. "Even Up The Score" written and sang by Bruce Brown really stands out. Bruce's vocals and the guitar accompanyment really make the song something different. I really like the song "How Much I Love You" it's a nice change of pace from the other hard edged songs on the album. "Sidewinder" is a very cool instrumental. "Its About Time" would have been a great line dance song. "Sail Away" is another "Road Dogs"-like song slowed down about the what goes on after the shows are over for the night.
I believe that the song "Martyr" is dedicated to "One of the Columbine High Schools shootings victims, Cassie Bernhall." And I quote: "To Cassie who had the courage to stand by her faith in Jesus even though it meant her death." All in all, Road Dogs is a great album. It's just a little too hard-edged for my tastes.
