During his second song, he sat at a keyboard facing the audience. I was on the left side facing the stage and Ronnie's piano faces the right side of the stage, so I didn't get a ton of pics, and only took them when he stood up.
Ronnie talked about his 40 #1 hits, which is his latest album. He said he's so thankful for all the people that have made them #1, and allowed him to tour all these years. Most artists do mention being thankful, but you can really tell how much Ronnie's fans mean to him.
Early in the show Ronnie introduced his band, and after he sang "Lost in the 50's" they all came forward and sang together what they call "street songs," in a do-wop style. This was really enjoyable to hear. They sang three songs this way, and the third one was "White Christmas," which I would never have expected to hear arranged that way. It was awesome. Their harmony is superb.
Next, Ronnie mentioned how he played on a few of Elvis' albums, and he pays tribute to Elvis with a song. I believe he may have sung "Blue Christmas," but I don't remember. Anyway, when he does this, all of a sudden you see "Elvis" come out on stage. (Elvis is played by opening act, Brian Matney) Ronnie, of course is clueless, until people tell him Elvis is here. He then apologizes for singing Elvis' song, and Elvis says, that's ok. They continue talking back and forth, Elvis reminiscing, and even commenting about Lisa Marie marrying Michael Jackson, and that it's a good thing he was dead, because if he weren't he would have died at seeing that. They then sing a song together. It's hilarious.
Ronnie really puts on a great show, and hearing his music brings back great memories of the 70s, when I first heard them.
