Call Me Crazy - This is the first release. It's great to hear a man sing about getting his heart broke, but still he believes in love. Foolish Pride - In this one, the man is telling someone that he won't let them stand in the way and interfere with his relationship. The twist is the "someone" isn't another person, it's his pride. I'm The One - He's telling her to go ahead and search elsewhere for what she's meant to find. He knows that when she does find the one, it will be him. It's a great song. Somebody's Gonna Lose - One of my favorite tracks on the cd. It's just exactly the kind of song I love to hear RVS sing. Not too slow, and it shows off his awesome voice. I Think I Like It Here - Like they say, home is where you're heart is. The little town he describes, with all its imperfections, is still where he wants to be because of the person he's there with. You Go Your Way (And I'll Go Crazy) - Basically, he's saying he'll lose his mind when she leaves. "If I don't know you've left me, then I can't have a broken heart." Again, Ricky's great vocals and the whine of the instruments in the background are a perfect fit. Who's Laughin' Now - She played her games, broke his heart, but what goes around comes around. He's the one having the last laugh. All I Have To Offer You Is Me - Good song. He lays it on the line and tells her he may not have much in the way riches to offer, but he'll love her forever. From The Fryin' Pan - I've never heard physical cravings associated with such a list of home cooked dishes. "Like fried green tomatoes, a plate of mashed potatoes, a scoop of ice cream on a steamin' apple pie." Very cute song. I Was Losing You - This is a sad one. He didn't realize he was losing her until it was too late. Now he can see all the signs he missed. Your One And Only - The only really fast song on the album. While I'm more partial to the slower ones, this one is good too. The Decision - Ricky wrote this one with Jerry Thompson, who was instrumental in getting him started in the music business. (The album is dedicated to the memory of Mr. Thompson.) It's a powerful song about a young girl's struggle with her decision about an unplanned pregnancy. Song List

After thirteen years, fourteen albums and twenty major music awards, this country fan had certain expectations when it came to Ricky Van Shelton and his music. With his latest release, "Fried Green Tomatoes," Ricky has managed to meet and even exceed those expectations. Though I'm no expert, I am a fan, and he makes it easy to remember why. Here's a little bit about each track.
