Sara performed at the Konocti Harbor Resort in Kelseyville, CA on August 1, 2002. This was my second time seeing her in concert, the last being last year in Oroville at Feather Falls Casino. Opening for her were the California Cowboys, a local Bay Area band.
At the time I saw Sara she was about 3 1/2 months pregnant with her second child. She looked great, and mentioned that she wasn't feeling nauseus that night for a change. She asked if anyone else was pregnant, and when no one else admitted to being pregnanty, she said "I'm the only one in the room?"
She was wearing a white eyelet top with a wide belt over black slacks and high heels. She started her show with a song I don't recognize, that I think was called "Feel It Coming On." From there she went to two cuts from her latest album, "Let's Dance," and then "Saints and Angels."
The next song was from her second album, and was called "I Thought I'd See Your Face Again." The next song I am not sure of the title. Then she sang her current single, "I Keep Looking."
One of my favorite Sara songs is her first No. 1 song, and the title cut of her second album, "No Place That Far." She sang this one next, and then sang a great cover of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."
A song sure to please some of the older members of the audience was next, a gorgeous rendition of "I Only Have Eyes For You." Then she grabbed a chair and sang another cut from her recent album, called "You Don't."
Sara said that when she was recording her latest album, she had just had her first child, Avery, and he was her inspiration when she heard the Diane Warren-penned tune which was to become a single for Sara, "I Could Not Ask For More." Sara said that with Avery and her husband, she really was blessed, and couldn't ask for anything more.
Next she sang the wonderfully upbeat "Born To Fly," and then closed the night out with the Doobie Brothers cover, "Without Love."
Sara has a beautiful voice, and she sounds fantastic live. If she's coming your way, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to her show. You won't be disappointed.

Set List:
Sara said that she moved to Nashville in 1995, and in one way or another she's been on stage since she was 4-years-old. She said her next two songs showed her country roots, and sang the title cut of her first album, "Three Chords & the Truth," and then a fantastic version of "Mule Skinner Blues."
We were a bit surprised that Sara didn't come back for an encore, but perhaps her pregnancy was weighing on her, so we understood. I was really hoping she'd sing "Over The Rainbow," though, and was a bit disappointed. All in all, she did perform for about an hour and 15 minutes, however, so it was a decent length for a show. I was in the second row of tables and you can see the great pictures I got of Sara. I was very pleased, and I am glad I went to see her as it was a last minute decision. I know she probably won't be touring for a while after the baby comes, so I wanted to see her while she was still out there.
