Country star
Dierks Bentley had one busy weekend. His "Miles & Music for Kids" benefit was scheduled for Sunday (October 5), which included a motorcycle ride & jam session to raise money for Monroe Carroll Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
The event started at Harley-Davidson of Cool Springs, where approximately 1200 bikers participated in the ride. The evening capped off the event at the Riverfront Stages, where a concert featured Bentley and friends Tim McGraw, John Rich (of Big & Rich), members of Lady Antebellum, Jamey Johnson, Halfway to Hazard, the Warren Brothers and racer Kyle Petty. All in all, over $275,000 was waised for the charity.
On Saturday night (October 4) , Dierks and wife Cassidy welcomed their first daughter Evalyn Day Bentley to the world. Little Evie weighed in at 7 lbs 10 oz. Congrats to the happy family!

Miranda Lambert's "More Like Her" Video to Debut on GAC on October 7
Monday October 6, 2008
Miranda Lambert's latest single,
"More Like Her" is a departure from the high octane songs like "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," "Kerosene" and
"Gunpowder & Lead." The poignant tune about the emotional journey of one woman is in my opinion one of her best tunes yet.
Miranda will be premiering the video for "More Like Her" on GAC on Tuesday, October 7 at 12:35pm EST.
Miranda comments on the song, saying "It was scary for me to put this song on the record since I wasn’t sure how fans would react to seeing this side. But this is one of my absolute favorites and I’m excited by the positive reaction from fans and country radio so far."
"More Like Her" is from Miranda's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend album. She is currently out on the road with Blake Shelton on the Seamless Tour.

The very first CMA Album of the Year was given to
Jack Greene for
There Goes My Everything in 1967. That is a part of country music history, as is the 1976 winner,
Wanted: The Outlaws, from Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Jessie Colter, and Tompall Glaser. That record was at the beginning of the
Outlaw movement, and actually was the very first country music album to sell over a million copies, earning the artists a Platinum record. In 1991, a new artist by the name of
Garth Brooks took home the award for his sophomore release,
No Fences. This album went on to sell over 17 million albums, making it the second best selling country album of all time.
We will have to wait for November 12, 2008 to see which album will be added to the long list of CMA Album of the Year winners. For now, let's take a look back at the past ten years to see which albums received the coveted CMA Album of the Year honor.
