"Still Country" is a great album! I love pretty much the whole album. Loretta's husband Doolittle passed away, and on several of the songs on this album you can tell how much she loves and misses him. "God's Country" is a salute to Lorettas home state of Kentucky. I love the line that says how it was there that "She Went From A Coal Miners Daughter To A Coal Miners Wife." "Table For Two" co-written by Vince Gill is a sad song about having to deal with the end of a relationship, or why I'm sure this song was picked for the album, dealing with the death of a loved one. My favorite line from the song is "I Am Alone At A Table For Two. The Candles Have Burned Down And Your Chair Is Still Empty." "Country In My Genes" is the first single and video release from this album. My favorite line of the song says in a way that is pure Loretta. "They Want To Change My Image Now Tell Me... "What's That Mean?" "Workin' Girl" written by Randy Scruggs and Matraca Berg, is my other favorite song on the album. It's an upbeat salute to the working women of today's world. "I Can't Hear The Music" is a very great sad song that Loretta wrote about the death of her husband. In the song she sings that Doolittle was "Her Biggest Critic And Her Biggest Fan," and "That His Every Word Was Music To Her Ears," and that with him "Gone To A Distant Shore I Can't Hear The Music Anymore." You can hear the emotion in Loretta's voice as she is singing. In country music today you rarely hear this type of emotion in a song anymore, and I have to say I cry everytime I hear this song. "The Blues Ain't Workin'" is an upbeat song that reminds me of Dolly Parton's "I Can See The Light Of A Clear Blue Morning." "Somewhere Someone's Fallin' In Love" is has a great "don't give up on love" message. I love the line "I've Got Time On My Hands And You On My Mind And The Moon And The Stars Up Above." Song List
