BMPRSHOST: If you had the chance to record a song with anyone
(living or dead) who would it be and why?
Suzy Bogguss: I have been fortunate enough to record several singles and a whole album with Chet Atkins. I think that's about as lucky as I need to get. BMPRSHOST: When did you first start singing? Suzy Bogguss: I've always loved to sing. My first solo was in church when I was five. I had a solo in the seventh grade Christmas recital and I shook so badly it sounded like I had a shotgun vibrato BMPRSHOST: Do you plan on recording any regular albums in the near future? Suzy Bogguss: I will be working on a swing album through the winter with Asleep At The Wheel's Ray Benson. We have five songs cut and it's so fun I'm reeling. BMPRSHOST: Out of all the albums you have released, which one would you say is your favorite? Suzy Bogguss: It actually changes. I don't listen to them very often, but if I need to refresh my memory on a song I'll get one out to learn it. Usually that becomes my favorite for a time. BMPRSHOST: Who was your musical influence when your musical career was just beginning? Suzy Bogguss: I used to sing every song Emmylou Harris ever recorded. She rocks! BMPRSHOST: Would you or have you ever considered expanding your talents beyond singing, say into the acting field? Suzy Bogguss: It sounds fun. I did musicals in high school and I think I'd be comfortable there. My biggest fear would be to be on camera and have that "deer in the headlights" look on my face. Yikes! BMPRSHOST: What do you do to relax when you are not on the road? Suzy Bogguss: I'm a real Suzy Homemaker. I love decorating my home. I'm a gardener too, so that's usually something I have to play catch up with. BMPRSHOST: Do you have any favorite television shows? Suzy Bogguss: Ask me again when my kid is older. BMPRSHOST: Do you like singing at small venues or large venues the best? Suzy Bogguss: I like both for different rushes. The large venue gives me the thrill that comes from the power in numbers. A small venue is so much more intimate and loose. You can actually be more spontaneous, I feel.
