I looked forward to listening to this album, and I was not disappointed. Pam has released an album that consistently showcases her unique style. This is Pam's seventh album for the Arista/Nashville label, and has been nearly three years in the making. It was produced mainly by Billy Joe Walker, Jr. with some cuts produced by Kenny Greenberg, Dann Huff and Paul Worley. She had some help from a very special person on the last track. Her dad, Mel Tillis, joined her for a duet.

Many of the songs deal with issues of second relationships. In "Jagged Hearts," she tells a story of two people who have

been hurt in previous relationships finding each other and learning to trust again. "When two people burned by love find each other...Isn't it amazin' when jagged hearts fit together..."

In the first single release from this album "Please," she wonders if going through the whole dating ritual a second time is worth it. As a single mom dealing with parenting issues she needs to go through dressing up, applying makeup plus finding a sitter. "Please let him be the one...let him cherish me for what I am.."

In "Off White" she says this time they have found true love. They have each seen one forever end....and she looks beautiful in off white.

"Thunder and Roses" is the title track of the album. In it, she wonders why she can't have it all. Why does she have to settle for calm and sweet, or swing the other direction and have someone that makes her feel great, but isn't that considerate. She says, "All I need is someone who brings me Thunder and Roses...

I also enjoyed "Which Five Years." It deals with what all of us seem to chase, looking younger than we are. It asks the question, "Which five years would I lose, Which lessons would I choose to learn again - just to seem a little younger?" Very good question.

The last track was one of my favorites on the album. Dad Mel joins her for "Waiting On The Wind." This is a daughter's tribute to her dad's strength and encouragement. It tells us to make our own destiny, follow our dreams and don't be caught waiting on the wind.
