Not only do I adore the song all on it's own, "Life Don't Have to be So Hard," is also a fine philosophy. Instead of spending every waking minute being busy, you should relax and enjoy yourself, your spouse, and your children. Stress is not good for anyone and it is better to "sit on the porch swing and sip a little ice tea" than be cooped up into a stuffy little office somewhere displaced from your family. In "Getting Back Up," we hear examples of people always saying that breaking up is the worst aspect of a relationship that ends, but in all actuality it is the getting back up. After all, when you get back up you move on and stand on your own two feet and are strong; You really show everybody what you are made of when you pick yourself up and get back to being normal. In this mid-tempo song, Tracy thinks that "It's Hard to be An Outlaw" because the love of his life does not want him anymore. She got tired of his wild ways and now that he is sitting back and reflecting on how foolish he was when he thought he was so cool, he realizes how unintelligent he really acted. "She Loved the Devil Out of Me" is certainly my kind of song with its upbeat and rockin' music, and the storyline is not so bad either. Her love made him change his not-so-great ways and now he is on the right path and thinks of her as his savior. "What A Memory" is one of those slow tear-jerking songs that will make you have to get up and get a tissue. In the beginning we hear of the death of a boy's mom and how she asked her husband to do what she asked of him, which we learned at the very end was to save money in a Folger's can so that their son could have a guitar of his own to write songs on. The beautiful words of "Even in her final moments, mom thought of me. What a memory," can perhaps help people realize that they should hold their family closer to their hearts. In "I Won All the Battles," the man is thinking back to how he always would think he won every little argument that he and his wife had. When she walked out the door he knew he had lost everything-the war. Instead of talking through their problems, he got a big head about everything and would not listen to what she had to say and now he is paying the price with her absence. I am very delighted with Tracy Lawrence's new album; it is all country with no pop involved, which I sure was hoping would be the case since he is very traditional country to begin with. All twelve songs could be wonderful singles in my opinion because not only do they sound like they are perfect for Tracy's voice, but they seem to be something that all country fans would want to hear.
