Being that I am a self-confessed "Collinator", I can't believe that I waited so long to buy Collin's Christmas album, The Gift. While I like contemporary Christmas music, the classics can't be beat. From the first notes of "The Christmas Song," to the last strains of "O Holy Night," the music brings to mind a feeling of what the season is really about.
The album includes two songs, "Silent Night," and "Away In A Manger," that Collin sings with his daughter Britanny. There's also one new song amid the classics called "It Could Happen Again." It tells the story of a temporary truce called at the height of WWI, so the soldiers on both sides could celebrate Christmas together. Johnny Cash speaks the introduction to the song.
The whole album is sung as only Collin can, and is sure to conjure the Christmas spirit in even the biggest Scrooge.
Purchase Christmas: The Gift.
