Trisha Yearwood & Jessica Andrews Concert Review

Trisha Yearwood Trisha Yearwood and Jessica Andrews performed at the Dixon May Fair on May 12th.

This was my sixth time to see Trisha, however the first in which she was the headliner. All the other times I had seen her, she was opening for Garth Brooks. This was my second time seeing Jessica Andrews having seen her last July at the Solano County Fair.

I had never been to the fair in Dixon, CA before, so I printed out maps and reserved my hotel. I was lucky in that Brad Paisley along with Yankee Grey were also playing in the area that same weekend, so I booked tickets for that show as well. Look for their review to be posted on May 29th.

Jessica Andrews The concert started at 7:00 pm, and Jessica Andrews came out right on time to open the show. It was still light out, so I got several pictures of her performing, which you can find in the Country Photo Album.

Below you'll find the list of songs that Jessica performed. I've included links to audio clips of the songs available, courtesy of Amazon.

Jessica told everyone how excited she is to be on tour with Trisha, and how she watches Trisha every night, and has more and more respect for her all the time. She also thanked all of us for making her first year such a fantastic one. She was still glowing after receiving the ACM New Female Vocalist Award the previous week.

Most of the songs were from her debut album, Heart-Shaped World, but she also sang a couple that she hadn't recorded. You'd think at 16, she'd be too young to pull off "Two More Bottles of Wine," but she does it well. Also, "Open Arms" was a pleasure to hear. She'd sung this when I saw her last time, and again did a great job with it. "Sending Me Angels" is the last song that she hadn't recorded. I'm not sure where it came from, but she dedicated it to everyone in the audience.

Jessica may be young, but she's got a great head on her shoulders, and I'm sure she'll be around for many years to come. She has a strong voice, and she knows when to pull out the stops, and when to back down. If you have the chance to see her in the future, I'd highly recommend going to the show. You won't be disappointed.

On to Trisha's part of the show...
