CD Review: Never Say Die - Waylon Jennings

"Never Say Die" was recorded this year at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville

"Closing In On The Fire" is the scorching attitude-infused first song on the album.

"Waymore's Blues," which is one of Waylon's signature songs, features country singer John Anderson. I consider him one of the second generation of "Outlaw" singers.

"Amanda" has always been one of my favorite songs and I love the version on this album, put together with the Dr. Hook classic "A Couple More Years."

"Nothin' Catches Jesus By Suprise" has got to be my absolute favorite song on the album.

No Waylon performance would be complete without "Good Hearted Woman." I have always loved the phrase "Through Teardrops And Laughter... They'll Pass Through This World Hand In Hand." I however did have one gripe with this song.... I could have took it the wrong way but I didn't care for Waylon making fun of Willie Nelson halfway through the song.

Waylons wife Jessie Colter is featured prominently on this album, and song number 8 is her signature song "Im Not Lisa."

"Im A Ramblin Man" another of Waylon's signature tunes features an appearance by hot country newcomers "Montgomery Gentry."

"I've Always Been Crazy" is a HOT duet featuring Waylon and Travis Tritt. It is so neat hearing the younger country singers of today getting to sing with the older artists. I wouldn't be able to speak much less sing if I ever got the chance to meet my country music idols.
