Sonny Burgess' first album, "When In Texas," is traditional country through and through. From song one to song ten, you will enjoy hearing this new talent tip his hat to true country music whether it be by ballads or by more upbeat songs.

Starting off the album with an upbeat tune, "When in Texas," advises people from out of the state, that instead of trying to change the Texan's point of view, change your own way of doing things. This song is his first single from the album.

In "Alone With You," the husband and wife are hardly together and when they are they still do not talk. "Girl I think it would be best for us, if I had some time alone. Alone with you, together in love." He says he could always go and ask other people what went wrong, but instead he wants to work things out with his wife and be in love like old times.

"Basic Love" tells the tale of a couple that loves each other. They both have regular jobs and throughout their days, they dream of each other. People think they are crazy but she continues to sing songs through the intercom, while he puts car parts in places they should not be.

Feeling very heartbroken after a lady left him, in "I Keep It Under My Hat," the singer never wants to show people his emotions and so whenever he thinks about her leaving, he pulls the brim down on his hat and hides the tears. One particular time he forgot the hat and turned the car around so that he could get it. Once arriving at his destination he is glad he retrieved it because he saw her with another man so he had to pull down the brim again.

"Somewhere Under The Rainbow," (also recorded by Aaron Tippin) is by far, my favorite ballad on "When In Texas." The couple may not have much, but because of having each other they have everything they could ever imagine. Instead of being rich, they are content with the simple things, like watching television together and dancing along to the radio.

From the very first note in "Smack Dab," you know this will be a good song to dance along to. If he wins the lottery or even if the President calls needing help, he won't leave his girl if they are "smack dab" in the middle of love.

"A Woman's Touch" is what he needs since he has been out of a relationship. He's given up on his dreams and thinks that a woman would give him confidence to continue with them. She'll let him know it is okay to have emotions and feelings, and she will wipe away his tears.
