I can never listen to "She Went Out For Cigarettes" again without thinking of what Chely said before she sang it in concert. She said that every time she sang it, it really affected her mood. Indeed, the song does have a powerful story, and the video shows this quite well. My favorite song would have to be "The Love That We Lost" which is a song Chely recorded twice. The ballad is haunting and sad. Listen to audio clips in .asf format of each of the versions.
Chely's music is hard to describe. It isn't what you'd call totally traditional, but it's not pop country either. I'd say she leans more to the traditional. No song on the album shows this more than the closing song, "Why Do I Still Want You," which sounds like something Patty Loveless would sing. Very pretty, and very country. Song List
