The Christmas season is one for which many movies are based. Prancer was a hugely hit movie from the 1980's. Now the USA Cable Network has joined with MCA Nashville to produce a new sequel to the film. MCA Nashville also got to release the soundtrack from the film.
Featuring a variety of songs and orchestral material, this CD should suit any holiday purist's heart. Christmas music is the most versatile of any genre.
Country artist Alecia Elliott sings "If You Believe." Alecia sings this song quite beautifully. It's about the magic that Christmas brings.
"I'll Be Home For Christmas" is performed by Nickel Creek. This is a bluegrass version of the holiday classic. Mandolin player and main vocalist, Chris Thile, sings it. Sara and Sean Watkins round out Nickel Creek.
"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" is performed by Michael McDonald One of the Doobie Brothers and a sought after vocalist and writer, Michael sings this classic with a bluesy vocal style. It is my favorite track on this CD.
"White Christmas" is performed by, none other than, Bing Crosby. I have always preferred his version to anyone else's.
"Nutcracker: Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy and Nutcracker: Dance of the Mirlitons. The National Philharmonic Orchestra performs both of these Nutcracker songs. These great, and instantly recognizable, songs are written by the great composer, Peter Tchaikovsky.
I always like to get one holiday CD a year and this is a worthy addition for anyone.
