Montgomery Gentry headlined at Feather Falls Casino on August 3, 2002. This wasn't my first time seeing them this year, however. They were part of Kenny Chesney's No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems tour, and I really enjoyed the show they put on then, and was really looking forward to the opportunity to see them again, doing a full show.

Troy and Eddie hit the stage just after 8:00 pm with "All Night Long." Eddie had on his trademark black duster and black jeans with the silver studs along the legs, and his black hat, and Troy had a powder blue and cream long-sleeved shirt and jeans. From that they went into a song that I'm not familiar with. I think it's called "For Better or Worse." They sang this song when I saw them back in May also. From there it was into their popular single, "Lonely and Gone."

Troy and Eddie's concerts are sponsored by Jim Beam, and Troy even has a guitar with the Jim Beam logo on it. He has another guitar that is dedicated to the POWs and MIAs. It's the black one shown in these pictures. If you view the slideshow you can see a picture of it close up.

Eddie told us that they're getting ready to release a new album on August 27th, and they wanted to play a few songs from it. They then played a song called "Scarecrow." This was another song they had played in May, and I really like it. It's got potential as a single.

The guys paid tribute to Waylon Jennings with "Ramblin' Man," and Eddie talked about being born and raised on a farm, and segued into "Daddy Won't Sell The Farm." Troy then said that he made a bet with Eddie that they would get the audience on their feet by the end of the night.

The next song was "Good Clean Fun," and Eddie said that he and Troy liked to raise hell and party. That lead into "Cold One Coming On." After that song was over, Troy said "Well, we got a quarter of you out of your seats."

Eddie said the next song can be found in your Country Music Hymnal on page 425, and they sang the Allman Brother's classic, "Midnight Rider." Here they introduced the band, and each member got a chance to play a solo.

The guys latest single, "My Town" was next, and was met with an enthusiastic crowd that sang along.

Troy said, "The next song is going to make you stand up and dance, or else it will make you grab your panties and run right out." He then told us to sing after them, and had us repeat the words to the chorus. That song was from their next album, and it's called "Hell Yeah." This was another one I heard back in May, and it's a crowd pleaser. What was funny was Troy forgot the words in one place and Eddie had to prompt him.

The guys thanked everyone for making the next song one of the most requested of the year 2001, and they sang "She Couldn't Change Me." Then they ended with "Hillbilly Shoes."

After a short break, they came back and sang their encore, a song from the recent ZZ Top Tribute, "Just Got Paid." The last song of the night was a Charlie Daniels tune, "Drinkin' My Baby Goodbye," which definitely had everyone on their feet and singing and dancing.

Here is Montgomery Gentry's full set list:

The guys played for nearly an hour and a half, and it was a great show. Lots of energy. If you like your country mixed with a bit of rock, you gotta get yourself down to one of Montgomery Gentry's shows. I highly recommend 'em!
