From the very first time I heard the song "Austin," I knew this was an album I wanted to review. The song is Mark McGuinn's first single and it cracked the Billboard Country Singles chart Top 10 in just twelve weeks. It then stayed on top of the charts for four weeks. The last time a debut single had done this was Billy Ray Cyrus with "Achy Breaky Heart," which stayed on top for five weeks.
Lest you think that perhaps Blake is another one-hit wonder, one listen to the rest of the songs on this album will prove that theory wrong. There are at least three other songs, ("All Over Me," ""Every Time I Look At You," and "She Doesn't Know She's Got It"), that I'd bet would hit the Top 10 as well.
This album has something for everyone, being traditional-sounding with a smack of contemporary sound that will be sure to get him airplay.
