Rhett Akins - A Thousand Memories
When Rhett Akins came out with his debut single "What They're Talkin' About," I just had to have the CD for which the single came from. Shortly after hitting the Billboard Top 40, Rhett released "A Thousand Memories." What a fine CD it is. From the opening notes of "Heart To Heart" to the closing notes of the touching "Those Hands" Rhett Akins created one of the better new releases of 1995.
The best song of the bunch is the subtle ballad "She Said Yes." About a guy who is too scared to ask the girl he likes the right questions, the song became the first ballad, and only as of 2002, to become a Top 40 hit. Other great tracks on the CD include the fun "I Break For Brunettes," Rhett's first Top 10 hit, "That Ain't My Truck" and the wonderful title track, "A Thousand Memories."
When you add up the hit singles with the six other solid tracks, Rhett Akins' "A Thousand Memories" is a CD that was a great album to launch a solid career from. If you like his latest release or any of the singles he's released, go ahead and pick up this album, you will be happy that you did.
