George Strait - Road Less Traveled
Well into the second decade of his career, George Strait had started to slip a little bit on the charts until Blue Clear Sky was released. Re-affirming George's status as not only an enchanting vocalist but a great entertainer too, George went on to win the Male Vocalist and CMA Album Of The Year awards in along with a pair of awards for Single and Song of the year for his hit from Strait Out of the Box called "Check Yes Or No." 1996.
The singles released from this album were the title track, "Carried Away," "I Can Still Make Cheyenne" and Jim Lauderdale's "King Of The Mountain." Other highlights to the album include "I'd Just As Soon Go," "Need I Say More" and "She Knows When You're On My Mind."
With his hit maker status re-affirmed with "Check Yes Or No," George Strait's Blue Clear Sky helped George win his first CMA awards since winning Entertainer Of The Year in 1990. For anyone new to country music, this is an album that is a good introduction into who George Strait is.
