Guide Review
Craig Morgan - Craig Morgan
Craig Morgan is the self-titled debut album from a very talented newcomer. It is released off the Atlantic record label and produced by Buddy Cannon & Norro Wilson. Craig seems to have a solid country sound and this was an enjoyable CD to listen to. Craig tries to perform songs that he feels are true to life, songs that the average person will relate to. Prior to becoming a recording artist, Craig made a living writing songs. He contributed to the writing of several songs on this album.

One of the highlights of this album was "I Wish I Could See Bakersfield." It features a guest vocal appearance by Merle Haggard. It is a great song about no matter where you go, there is no place like home. "Paradise" was somewhat of an autobiography for the very patriotic military veteran and did very well on the charts. "I Want Us Back" is a haunting love song that also did very well on the charts.

Overall, this CD will appeal to the person who has a love of the traditional sounds of country music. Each and every track on the album has the traditional sound while still appealing to the newer country fans with the lyrics. Craig set out to record songs of the average life, and he seems to have succeeded. Craig's second album will be released soon.
