Guide Review
Dan Tyminski - Carry Me Across The Mountain
Since hearing Dan Tyminski sing "I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow" on the wildly popular "O' Brother" soundtrack, you might have high expectations for the album, and Dan has successfully lived up to the hype. He has shown he has what it takes to be a permanent fixture as a solo artist in the bluegrass genre.

Most of the songs are full of inspiration and emotion, as in the following songs: "Faith Is A Mystery" and a song about a little boy with a broken heart ("Tiny Broken Heart"). "Greens Fees" is an instrumental that will knock your socks off as you hear mandolins, banjos, and just about any other great instrument you could think of. On two songs, Alison Krauss lends her voice to background vocals and it is just as if you are listening to an Alison Krauss + Union Station album. Since this is Dan's first CD, it is almost as if she is gently leading the listeners in to an album that is full of Dan's voice, instead of letting him jump right in.

Not only does Dan sing, but he plays most of the instruments (including the conga) along with other fine artists like Georgia Middleman and his brother, Stan (who joins Dan in singing "I Dreamed Of An Old Love Affair"). Most of the songs were also written by Dan, which only showcases another way that he is talented.
