Jo Dee Messina - I'm Alright
It was a while in the making, and during the time between her first album and this one, she nearly went bankrupt. But friend Tim McGraw believed in her, and co-produced this and JoDee received the ACM award for New Female Vocalist in 1998.
Her singles "Bye Bye," "I'm Alright," and "Stand Beside Me," all went to No. 1 and stayed there for consecutive weeks, making her the first female to do this.
JoDee can sing them tender like "Because You Love Me," and "Even God Must Get The Blues," and she can reach back and belt out her upbeat songs like "I'm Alright," and "Lesson in Leavin'" and this is the album that made her a star.
