Kris Kristofferson - Songs of Kristofferson
Would you ever think that a Rhodes scholar would be a country singer/songwriter?
I didn't until I learned about Kris Kristofferson. I had heard some songs when I was younger, but thought they were nothing special. Then as I got older I was given this CD and I realized what a heck of a writer Kris is. Doing some research, I learned that many artists have recorded his songs and taken them to the top of many charts.
The best songs on this CD are the ones which other people had hits with. "Me And Bobby McGee" and "Sunday Morning Coming Down" are two of them. Other highlights are "You Show Me Yours (And I'll Show You Mine)," "For The Good Times," and "The Silver Tongued Devil And I."
While Songs of Kristofferson also contains some of Kris' lesser-known tracks at the end of the CD, it is a wonderful collection. Besides, when the CD has eight or nine hits out of twelve, why not have the other three songs some of the more obscure songs he has recorded.
