Dolly Parton - Little Sparrow
Little Sparrow is Dolly's second highly acclaimed bluegrass album and she received the Female Vocalist Grammy Award for the song "Shine." This is yet another example of Dolly's natural and diverse talent. She has gone back to her roots to record her last albums and they are Pure Country Gold. It is a release from Sugar Hill Records and off of the Blue Eye label.
Several guests have joined her on this album, and it is like a Bluegrass reunion. There are Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski, Rhonda Vincent, Claire Lynch, Stuart Duncan, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Sonya Isaacs and Beck Isaacs Bowman all lending Dolly a hand. Dolly has a pure voice that is perfect for this type of music. She explores all types of music and seems to enjoy the music of Ireland. Altan, makes a special appearance on this album and has been a guest on previous albums of hers as well.
She sails through the album with tunes such as the title track of "Little Sparrow," lighthearted songs like "Marry Me," and "I Get A Kick Out of You." I particularly like the song, "Seven Bridges Road." All 14 tracks on here are great; there isn't a bad song in the bunch.
