Mark McGuinn - Mark McGuinn
As country music's own David vs. Goliath story, Mark McGuinn literally came out of nowhere to secure a hit single. This time last year he was a struggling songwriter looking for his big break. In February 2001, after having signed a recording deal with upstart label VFR, Mark McGuinn was originally going to release "That's A Plan" as his debut single. However, radio stations liked "Mrs. Steven Rudy" better and told VFR to release that one, and they did. It became a top 6 hit at Billboard ®.
Now, in the final months of 2001, Mark McGuinn has a hit CD and a second Billboard ® top 40 hit. "That's A Plan" peaked at 25. The third single and probably the best song on the CD, "She Doesn't Dance," is primed to join "Mrs. Steven Rudy" as a big hit. Other great tracks on this CD include: "Done It Right," "Silver Platter," "Heaven Must Be Missing You," and "All About The Ride."
Featuring a good mixture of up-tempo and touching, yet soaring ballads, Mark McGuinn's self-titled debut album is one CD that should be in every country music fan's collection.
