Chely Wright - Never Love You Enough
Continuing in the tradition of her first number one song, "Single White Female," the songs on Never Love You Enough have some of the same sounds to them, while of course successfully updating it to including things that a wider range of fans would like.
The intense sounding title track, "Never Love You Enough," was a smash hit on the CMT's "Most Wanted Live" program as the video had to be retired because it had reached number one for fifty days. On Billboard, however, it only hit twenty-seven. "Jezebel," the song dubbed "The Modern Day 'Jolene,'" hit Billboard like a rocket and came to a halt at twenty-three. Chely's beautiful duet with Brad Paisley is "One Night In Vegas," a song about making it through the rough spots in a marriage.
Never Love You Enough has an overall contemporary country sound, while also having traditional country instruments mixed throughout, and the combination gives the whole album a unique feel to it. Any listener could easily pick out songs that they like because there is something for everyone.
