The Wilkinsons - Nothing But Love
In the tradition of the Carter Family, The Judds and Shaver, The Wilkinsons came on to the Country Music scene as a father, son and daughter trio. Hailing from Canada, The Wilkinsons were instantly noted for their crystal clear harmonic vocals. Father Steve is the writer of the group while bluesy Amanda sings most of the lead vocals. Tyler, the youngest Wilkinson, at age 14 when this was released, was still going through vocal growing pains (much like Billy Gilman is now), so he is basically like his dad and a harmony singer. However, Tyler and Steve do tackle three of the 11 tracks.
Their first single, "26 Cents" was an instant hit. Their following singles didn't do as well as "26 Cents," but the group was well on their way to over 20 nominations for numerous awards. The best tracks on the album are "26 cents," "Don't I Have A Heart" (which is the type of song Billy Gilman should be singing), "Fly," "The Yodelin' Blues" and "One Faithful Heart."
If you like a group that sounds exquisite together, then you should check out The Wilkinsons' debut album, Nothing But Love.
