Clay Walker - Say No More
Say No More is Clay's seventh release for Giant Records. Of the eleven selections on the album, six of them are ballads, and being a person that is a sucker for a ballad, I really do like this album. Clay also includes a cover of "La Bamba," which he totally nails. When he decided that he wanted to try this song, he took Spanish lessons so that his pronunciation of the words would be accurate.
Clay co-wrote three of the songs on the album; "She's Easy To Hold," which is traditional to the bone, "Texas Swing," which would make Bob Wills proud, and "So Much More," which is another wonderful ballad, and one of my favorites from the album. He also has a song that is co-written by Darryl Worley, "Rough Around The Edges," which reminds me a bit of George Strait's "Where The Sidewalk Ends." Plus, there is a killer ballad, "Real," which was co-written by Richie McDonald of Lonestar.
If you've liked Clay's previous work, you'll really enjoy this album. There isn't a bad song on here. There are traditional songs, powerful ballads, and a little western swing. Something for everyone.
