Guide Review
Tanya Tucker - Tanya
Tanya is the first album release in five years from country legend Tanya Tucker. It is the first release on her own label, Tuckertime Records, and it is distributed by Capital Records. It is a powerful album, and one Tanya is very proud of. It was produced by fiancé and singer/songwriter Jerry Lassiter. He joins Tanya with some backup vocals on several songs, and you can hear the chemistry the two of them have. Vince Gill also joins Tanya as a guest vocalist on a song.

"Old Weakness" is the first song on the album and was on a previous Delbert McClinton album. "Oh What A Love" is a beautiful ballad and sung with incredible feeling. It was co-written by Jerry Lassiter and Hank Cochran. It is just Tanya and Jerry singing for this one and would make a great single. "A Memory Like I'm Gonna Be" is the first single release from the album. It has more of that Tanya 'sass' and was also co-written by Jerry Lassiter.

The bottom line is that Tanya is still very much a contender in the field. She still has the Tanya 'sass' and the maturity to do justice to the several beautiful ballads she chose to record for this project. It will be a welcome addition to your country music collection.
