Trick Pony - Trick Pony
Trick Pony is a unique name for a unique group that produces a unique, high energy sound. Heidi Newfield, Ira Dean and Keith Burns are the voices and talent that make up Trick Pony. All three share the duties of lead vocals, write their own music, and all play instruments. Although this is their first release they are no strangers to the music industry, having played the club scene for years. While unique is a perfect description for this group, very talented also describes them well.
For this album, they recruited some country legends to help out. Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash make a guest appearance on the cut "Big River," which Johnny released many years ago on one of his albums. It is an enjoyable track to listen to.
While this isn't a CD you could curl up with a good book and relax to, it is a CD that would motivate you to move around and get things done while listening to it. It is a great house cleaning album! I really enjoyed the wide range of tempos and subjects that the songs on this album covered.
