Summertime is the peak season for music festivals. You can go to one event which may last as long as three or four days, and see up to 16 different acts. Below you'll find a listing by state (or country).

Canada

Big Valley Jamboree
Held in Camrose Exhibition Grounds, in Camrose Alberta. August 1, 2, 3 & 4 in 2002. Artists signed so far: Paul Brandt, Martina McBride, Neal McCoy, Collin Raye, Ricky Van Shelton, Steve Holy, Lisa Hewitt, Adam Gregory, Chris Cummings, Duane Steele, Keith Urban, Mindy McCready, and The Good Brothers. Kick off party will have Julian Austin and the Honky Tonk Tailgate Party, featuring Daryle Singletary, Wade Hayes and Rhett Akins.

Alabama

Bluegrass on the Village Green
Saturday, May 11, 2002 in Millbrook, Alabama. Artists so far: Mike Compton, Out of the Blue, Highway 99, Twilight Bluegrass, and Harold and Ovaline Andrews.

Arizona

Country Thunder USA
Held on April 25th - 28th in Queen Creek, AZ. Performers include: Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Suzy Bogguss, Emerson Drive, Steve Holy, Sawyer Brown, Chris LeDoux, Jessica Andrews, Billy Dean, Lee Greenwood, Alan Jackson, Cledus T. Judd, Chris Cagle, Trick Pony, Gary Allan, Dwight Yoakam, and Brooks and Dunn.

California

Strawberry Music Festival
Held on May 23-27, 2002 in Yosemite, CA. Performers include: John Cowan Band, Yonder Mountain String Band, The Waifs, Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer, Connie Kaldor, Hillbilly Idol, Geno Delafose & French Rockin' Boogie, Nanci Griffith, Tim O'Brien, The Del McCoury Band, plus many more TBA.

Colorado

Country Jam USA
Held in Grand Junction, CA on June 27 - 30th. Performers include: Aaron Tippin, Kenny Chesney, Daryl Singletary, Rhett Akins, Wade Hayes, Sara Evans, Sawyer Brown, Toby Keith, Steve Holy, Clay Walker, Chely Wright, Chris Ledoux, Phil Vassar, Blake Shelton, Montgomery Gentry, and Lonestar.

Florida

CountryJam
Held April 26-27 in Live Oak, FL. Performers include: Joe Diffie, Collin Raye, Montgomery Gentry, Darryl Worley, Jo Dee Messina, Tammy Cochran, Tracy Byrd, Rascal Flatts, BlackHawk, Aaron Tippin, and Charlie Daniels.

Minnesota

WE Fest
Held August 1-4 in Detroit Lakes, MN. Performers include: Emerson Drive, Blackhawk, Sawyer Brown, Chris Cagle, Jo Dee Messina, Alabama, Martina McBride, Toby Keith, Gary Allan, Trisha Yearwood, Brooks & Dunn and more!

Winstock Country Music & Camping Festival
Held June 7-8 in Winsted, MN. Performers include: Lonestar, Jo Dee Messina, BlackHawk, George Jones, Trace Adkins, The Wilkinsons, Chad Brock, Jessica Andrews, The Kentucky HeadHunters, The Clark Family Experience, and Blake Shelton.

Nebraska

Comstock Windmill Festival
Held June 6-8 in Comstock, NE. Performers include: Brad Paisley, Charlie Daniels Band, Trick Pony, Jo Dee Messina, Rascal Flatts, Darryl Worley, Great Divide, Diamond Rio, Terri Clark, Jolie & The Wanted, South 65, Alabama, Oakridge Boys, Steve Holy and the Wilkinsons.

North Carolina

MerleFest
Held April 25-28 at Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro NC. Performers include: Leahy, Nickel Creek, Patty Loveless, The Sam Bush Band, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Yonder Mountain String Band, Earl Scruggs & Friends, Jerry Douglas, and many, many more.

Ohio

Jamboree in the Hills
Held July 18-21 in Belmont County, Ohio. Performers include: Chris Cagle, Montgomery Gentry, Lonestar, Toby Keith, John Anderson, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Neal McCoy, Hank Williams Jr., Cyndi Thomson, Andy Griggs, Trace Adkins, Chely Wright, Charlie Daniels Band, John Michael Montgomery, Alabama, Mickey Gilley, David Ball, Jamie O'Neal, Brad Paisley, and Kenny Chesney.

Tennessee

Bluegrass in the Smokies
The festival is held at the Smoky Mountain Campground in Sevierville, TN on August 22nd to 24th. Artists appearing include Lonesome River Band, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Blue Highway, Larry Sparks, Chris Jones, The Chapmans and more.

Fan Fair
Fan Fair runs from June 13-16th this year at the downtown Nashville location. Shows will be held at Adelphia Coliseum, and artists who are attending are listed on the Fan Fair site.

Texas

Old Settlers Festival
Held April 19-21 at the Salt Lick Pavilion and Camp Ben McCulloch in Dripping Springs, TX. Performer's include: Karen Abrahams and Reckless Abandon, Cara Cooke, The John Cowan Band w/ Vassar Clements, Bruce Hornsby And His Band, Jim Hurst and Missy Raines, Leftover Salmon and Friends, The Del McCoury Band, and many others.

Tri-County Summerfest
Held on June 9 in Hallettsville, TX. Performers include: Jerry Jeff Walker, Pat Green, Tommy Alverson, Bill Pekar, and The Emotions.

Wisconsin

Country Thunder USA
Held on July 18, 19, 20, 21 in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Performers include: Cyndi Thompson, Emerson Drive, Travis Tritt, Aaron Tippin, Montgomery Gentry, Sawyer Brown, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Steve Holy, Jessica Andrews, Phil Vassar, George Jones, Kenny Chesney, Chely Wright, Tracy Lawrence, Joe Diffie, Mark Chesnutt, Jeff Foxworthy, and Jo Dee Messina.

CountryFest
Held in Cadott, WI on June 27-30. Cheyenne Frontier Days
