| Collin Raye Concert Review | |
|
Collin Raye is one of my favorite male artists, and I make a point to see him when he comes my way. This was my third time seeing him, and the second at Feather Falls Casino.
Most concerts that I've been to don't start on time, and this one was no exception. At 8:00, the announcer came on stage and welcomed everyone to the show and told some of the acts that were coming to Feather Falls. Then, he told us Collin would be out in seconds. Well, his seconds and my seconds are vastly different, and at 8:15 the Elvis pre-concert music stopped, the lights dimmed and Collin's intro music began to play.
Collin came out dressed in a long sleeved white shirt with a black t-shirt underneath, and jeans, looking great and happy to be on stage. He opened the show with a cut from his recent album Can't Back Down called Gypsy Honeymoon.
Collin didn't talk a whole lot during the show, other than thanking everyone that has ever bought one of his albums or requested his music for doing so, and asking us to show our appreciation for his band.
I was kind of surprised that Collin didn't do an encore, but maybe he was tired. He mentioned that they had done quite a few shows in a row. The show lasted just over an hour. While it was shorter than the others I had seen, it was no less great. Collin is a performer, and always a pleasure to see live.
Below is the set list. The songs with the (m) after them were part of medleys.

Collin tries to include all his hits during a show, so many of the songs are part of medleys. One of my favorite parts is when he sings the song "That's My Story." He will sing it and his band members look at him like "Why doesn't she believe that?" It's really cute.
